Bicyclist Seriously Injured In Mercer County Crash
The bicyclist was hit after he drove towards the intersection against the red light, Hamilton Police said.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ – A bicyclist was seriously injured after he was struck by a van in Mercer County, Hamilton Police said.
On Oct. 26, around 9:28 a.m., Julio Caizaguaman of Trenton was driving a 2005 GMC Van near the intersection of South Clinton Avenue and Chambers Street when it collided with a bicycle, driven by Victoriano Choz.
According to preliminary investigation, Choz proceeded southbound into the intersection against the red traffic signal, when he was struck by the van. The GMC Van was traveling eastbound on South Clinton Avenue through the intersection which had the green traffic signal, police said.

Choz sustained serious injuries, and he was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Officers J. Anaya and P. Welsh of the Hamilton Police Division Traffic Unit are investigating the crash. Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact the Traffic Unit at 609-581-4024.
