Broncs Finish 16 of 19 in Golf Invitational

The Rider University Golf Team competed in the Lafayette Invitational.

The Rider University golf team competed at the 11th annual Lafayette Invitational April 7-8 at the Northampton Country Club.

Rider placed 16th out of 19 teams after a 329 on Monday.  The Broncs shot an opening round of 314 at the par 72, 6,393-yard course and finished with a two-day total of 643.

For Rider, senior Evan McGrain (West Windsor/W. Windsor-Plainsboro South) finished tied for 43rd after a round of 85 on Monday for a total of 158.  McGrain entered play in third place after an opening round of 73 on Sunday.

Also for the Broncs, sophomore Cole Clark (Califon/Voorhees) tied for 50th after rounds of 78-81 (159), senior Beau Guarino (Burlington) scored 161 (81-80) and tied for 61st, junior James Buttermark (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) tied for 82nd (82-64) with a total of 166 and sophomore Luke Liddell (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) finished with 167 after rounds of 83 and 84 to tie for 86th place.

In the team competition, Lehigh finished first with a score of 597, followed by Drexel (604), Iona (605), Central Connecticut (607) with Army and Hofstra tying for fifth place (610).
