Burglary Reported at Majewski, Vandalism at Abandoned Building

Lawrence Police reported the following incidents on Spruce Street: 

• Sometime between 4:30 p.m. on July 16 and 7 a.m. the next morning, someone broke a plexiglass window at Majewski Machine Corp. on Spruce Street, reached in and stole two hand tools. The damage to the window is estimated at $500. Det. Robert Chester is investigating. 
• Someone broke seven windows at Melcor Corp, an abandoned building on Spruce Street sometime between June 28 at 1 p.m. and July 17 at 1 p.m. All of the windows were double pane and only the exterior panes were broken, reportedly with rocks. The damage is estimated at $375. An investigation continues.
