Cimino Unanimously Voted To Lead Mercer Co. Commissioner Board In 2024

​This year marks Cimino's 15th year as a Commissioner and his third term as Board Chairman.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ - The Mercer County Board of County Commissioners held their annual Reorganization Meeting and Swearing Ceremony at the War Memorial in Trenton on Jan. 4.

John A. Cimino, was unanimously chosen to serve as board Chairman. This year marks Cimino's 15th year as a Commissioner and his third term as Board Chairman.

"Being chosen by my fellow Commissioners to lead this group into a new era for Mercer County is an honor that I don't take lightly. I look forward to working collaboratively with County Executive Benson and the Commissioner Board to help ensure a smooth transition that moves Mercer County Forward," Cimino said.

"This is an exciting time for Mercer County. I hope to shine a light on the amazing things happening at our Parks and Community College while also knowing the issues that must be addressed to keep Mercer affordable for all of its residents.”

Cimino, who was re-elected in November, was joined by his wife Jeannine, son AJ, and daughter Emma was sworn in as Commissioner by his father Anthony "Skip" Cimino, and sworn in as Board Chair by 14th District Assemblyman Wayne P. DeAngelo.

A lifelong Hamilton Township resident, Cimino is the Chief Strategy Officer, at T&M Associates and a staunch community activist who has served on numerous boards while always coaching his son and daughter's athletic teams.

"Commissioner Cimino is an experienced leader in both government and the private sector," County Executive Dan Benson said.

"He will do a fantastic job once again at the helm of the Mercer County Board of County Commissioners."

Commissioner and Hopewell Township resident Kristin L McLaughlin was selected to serve as Vice-Chair and was sworn in by Assemblyman Anthony Verrelli. McLaughlin is entering her third year on the board and first as Vice-Chair.
