Comic Relief Has Free Comics, Comic Creators in May
Free Comic Book Day is Saturday, May 3, and writer Dan Slott will appear at the store on May 11.
Comic Relief on Quakerbridge Road has an exciting month planned for May that includes free comics and great guests.
First, on Saturday, May 4, stop by the shop for Free Comic Book Day! Customers who stop by will get two or three books compliments of the house, said owner Ed Iannone.

“Free Comic book Day is sort of a national event that the majority of comic shops participate in,” said Iannone. It’s always the first Saturday in May. We usually allow someone to get two or three books, and some of the books are great, ‘The Walking Dad,’ Marvel, DC.”
On the following week, Saturday, May 11, fans will line up to meet two notable comic creators—Dan Slott writer of titles such as “The Amazing Spider-Man,” “Avengers: The Initiative,” “She-Hulk,” and more.

Joining him will be Fabian Nicieza, who has penned the "X-Men," "X-Force," "Avengers" and many others.
Comic Relief moved from its long-time home in Mercer mall to 4120 Quakerbridge Road in Lawrence on Feb. 13.
