Cooling Centers Open In Mercer County Amid Scorching Heat Wave

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Most of New Jersey, including Mercer County, is under a heat advisory.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory which is affective until 6 a.m. on Saturday, with the hottest temperatures and heat indices expected to occur on Friday. An excessive heat watch has been issued from Saturday through Sunday evening.

During the heat advisory, heat index values will range from 95 to 100 degrees and during the excessive heat watch, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values ranging from 100 to 105 degrees is possible, according to the National Weather Service.
