Distribution of Laptops to LTPS Students to Begin Soon

Parents of Lawrence Township Public School students entering sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grades can now make appointments to pick up their child's laptop computer. Distribution will take place Aug. 13 through Aug. 29, excluding Fridays.

Jumpstarted by the Teaching and Learning with Essential New Technologies in the 21st Century (Talent 21) , the 1:1 mobile device initiative continues within the district.

Beginning with the upcoming school year, LTPS expands the program to include Grade 9.

Parents of LTPS students entering sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grades can now select a date and time to pick up their child's laptop. The dates of distribution will be Monday, Aug. 13, through Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, excluding Fridays, and there will be both afternoon and evening hours on most days.

A maximum of five students can be accommodated per time slot and the slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

For those having multiple students who are eligible for a laptop, you will be able to register them simultaneously.

For all pickup dates, a parent/guardian and the student must attend

Upon picking up the laptop, both the student and his/her parent will be required to sign verification that they have read the district policies and procedures regarding the laptop program. The whole process should take no more than 15-30 minutes.

Important information about topics such as basic care of the computer, insurance, district policies and procedures, and parent/student responsibilities are also available on this webpage and must be reviewed before picking up the laptop.
