Donations Being Collected for Family from Burned Home
Bill and Amy Schuler and their two sons, ages 9 and 12, lost nearly all of their possessions when a raging fire destroyed their home on Fountayne Lane in Lawrence Township last week.
Friends have organized an effort to raise donations to help the Schuler family, who lost their Lawrence Township home and nearly all of their possessions to a .
Most needed are gift cards to help Bill and Amy Schuler’s two sons, ages 9 and 12, get ready for school.
The boys lost all their school supplies, computers, clothes and sports equipment in the blaze, according to friends, who said the boys play soccer for their respective schools.

Cash donations and gift cards to stores like Staples, Target, Best Buy, Dick's Sporting Goods, ShopRite, Wegman's, Old Navy, Gap and Quaker Bridge Mall would be most helpful at this time, friends said.
“At this point, we are trying to heavily discourage clothing and household item donations,” an email about the fundraising effort reads. “This way, Bill and Amy won’t have miscellaneous bags of ‘stuff’ to sort through, the kids won’t have to start school in hand-me-downs, and they can use the gift cards/cash to purchase what they need when they need it, as their needs will certainly change as they move into various temporary housing scenarios and the rebuilding process.”

Friends said the family has been living in a hotel since the fire.
Clothing donations for Amy Schuler are not needed. “She has a friend who is a designer and the company donated a new wardrobe,” according to the email friends are circulating about the fundraising effort.
Friends said they hope to organize a dinner/dance in the fall to help raise money for the family, but that is still in the planning stages.
Donations for the Schuler family can be sent to: P.O. Box 1507, Princeton, N.J. 08540.
The cause of the blaze that destroyed the Schuler family’s home and damaged two neighboring homes in the 100 block of Fountayne Lane last week remains under investigation by township and county officials.
