Festival In Mercer To Celebrate Delaware River With Food, Music, & Pork Roll Contest
Activities will span Trenton Thunder's back parking lot and inside the ballpark.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ - The Trenton Thunder, Mercer County, and the Watershed Institute are collaborating to combine two beloved community events into one spectacular free festival.
The expanded RiverFest, merging the traditional RiverFest with Trenton River Days, will take place Saturday, Sept. 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Trenton Thunder ballpark with free admission and parking.
Activities will span the Thunder's back parking lot and inside the ballpark. The outdoor area features educational exhibits from Mercer County and local organizations, canoe and boat rides on the Delaware River, live music, hayrides from Howell Living History Farm, and fly fishing demonstrations by the Ernest Schwiebert Chapter of Trout Unlimited.

“We’re thrilled to once again be part of this incredible community celebration that brings people together to experience and appreciate the beauty and importance of the Delaware River,” said Jim Waltman, Executive Director of The Watershed Institute. “Events like this help us connect with families and individuals of all ages in a fun, engaging way while highlighting the critical need to protect our water resources.”
Inside the ballpark, attendees can enjoy food featuring Trenton's iconic Case's Pork Roll, craft beer selections, and live performances by local bands including Modern Mojo.

The highlight will be the ninth annual World Famous Case's Pork Roll Eating Championship, a 10-minute Major League Eating sanctioned competition.
“By combining RiverFest and River Days, we’re offering our community an even bigger and better celebration of Trenton, the Delaware River, and all the wonderful things our region has to offer. And this year, we’re thrilled to offer free admission and free parking to ensure everyone can join in the fun!” said Jon Bodnar, Trenton Thunder General Manager.
The event includes a youth art contest for ages 7-13 celebrating the Delaware River. The winning artist receives dinner gift cards, ballgame tickets, and the opportunity to throw the opening pitch of the 2026 Thunder season.

“Mercer County is proud to join forces with the Trenton Thunder and Watershed Institute for this expanded RiverFest event,” said Mercer County Executive Dan Benson. “We’re eager to showcase the natural beauty of our riverfront and provide educational and recreational opportunities for families throughout the region.”
The event is free to the public and free parking is also available.
