Ex-State Employee Who Uploaded Child Sex Abuse Material Gets Parole Supervision For Life
Philip Nelson of Mercer County is also prevented from seeking future public employment, authorities said.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A Ewing man was sentenced to parole supervision for life for possession of child sex abuse material, Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey said.
Philip Nelson, 35, was sentenced by Mercer County Superior Court Peter E. Warshaw on Aug. 15 to a suspended state prison sentence and parole supervision for life.
As an additional requirement of his sentence, Nelson, a state employee, was ordered by the court to forfeit his public employment, and he is prevented from seeking future public employment.

Detectives with the ICAC Unit received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a person in Mercer County had uploaded multiple files of suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to the internet. An investigation was initiated and Nelson was identified as a subject, Marbrey said.
In March 2025, a search warrant was executed at Nelson’s Ewing residence, where detectives seized multiple items of evidentiary value.

He was charged with possession of CSAM and possession with the intent to distribute. On April 30, Nelson pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child by virtue of possessing less than 1,000 CSAM images.
