Hamilton Woman Allegedly Shoplifted, Then Hit Loss Prevention Officer with Vehicle

The incident happened on Tuesday, July 16.

A Hamilton woman faces multiple charges after police allege she stole clothing from Sears and when confronted  by a loss prevention officer, tried to leave and then backed into him with her vehicle. 

Tammy Garrison, 37, was charged with robbery and shoplifting. 

According to Lawrence Township Police, Garrison was allegedly seen shoplifting two shirts (valued at $42) on July 16 around 8:30 p.m. putting them in a shopping bag and leaving the store without paying.

A loss prevention officer allegedly approached her and asked her to come back to the office. Garrison allegedly refused, but turned over her shopping bag. When the officer asked to look in Garrison's purse, she refused and went to her car. As the officer attempted to write down her license plate number, Garrison allegedly backed up and injured the officer's stomach. The officer refused medical treatment. 

Garrison posted $5,000 bail (10 percent down) and was released.
