Help Lawrence Township Build The Hero Dog Park

The township is a finalist for the 2022 Petsafe "Bark for your Park" contest. The winner gets $25,000 in funding.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Lawrence Township has plans to create a dog park, and to this end is pursuing grant funding.

The Township is a finalist for the 2022 Petsafe “Bark for your Park” grant contest. During the month of August, Lawrence will compete with other townships, and the top four to receive the most votes will win $25,000 in funding.

The money will go towards re-purposing and improving the use of Hamnett Park, on Ohio Avenue.

The township plans to build a state-of-the-art dog park and recreational area. The redesign of Hamnett Park includes a multipurpose walking path around the perimeter, lighting for pedestrians, shade structures, landscaping, and two fenced-in areas for smaller and larger dogs at the newly titled Hero Dog Park.

Residents can help the township offset some of the cost of the project offset and alleviate the burden on taxpayers, by voting for Lawrence Township in the “Bark for your Park” contest.
