Incumbent, Newcomers Elected To Lawrence Twp. Council In Uncontested Race

Three Democrats will be filling the Town Council seats as Republicans did not field any candidates.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — During Tuesday’s election, voters in Lawrence Township elected two newcomers and an incumbent to the town council.

Incumbent John Ryan, newcomers Patricia Hendricks Farmer and Olympia I’Liou Perry, all Democrats, will be taking their seats on the council. Hendricks Farmer received the highest number of votes (4,776) followed by Ryan (4,736) and Perry 4,687.

The Republican Party did not field any candidates.

Hendricks Farmer is making a leap from the Lawrence Board of Education to town council. She is currently filling out her term on the BOE.

Hendricks Farmer and Perry will be replacing Councilmembers Michael Powers and Catherin MacDuff who did not seek re-election.

MacDuff is filled out an unexpired term and Power decided not to seek re-election after completing his fifth term on Council.

The results are currently unofficial, and they will be certified on Nov. 22.

Here’s the vote tally:

  • John Ryan: 4,736
  • Patricia Hendricks Farmer: 4,776
  • Olympia I’Liou Perry: 4,687
