LIS Earns Top Spot in State in Heart Association Fundraiser
LIS students earned a combined total of $15,009 for the 2013 event and have contributed over $185,000 throughout the years.

Lawrence Intermediate School Principal Dave Adam received news the first day of school, Sept. 9, that LIS is the #1 Dual Event School in New Jersey for Jump Rope For Heart and Hoops For Heart in the American Heart Association’s fundraiser for 2013.
LIS students earned a combined total of $15,009 for the 2013 event and have contributed over $185,000 throughout the years.
Jodie D’Emilio, AHA regional director, commended the school and said their efforts affect childhood obesity and further scientific research to fight heart disease and stroke.
LIS has run these events for the past 18 years and it’s the fourth time in the last nine years the school has earned the number one distinction. Physical education teachers Jonathan Chichilitti, David Boggs, Tori Hart, and Jack Casey led the 2013 event.
