Man Charged For Stealing Dog At Gunpoint In Mercer Co.: Police
4-month-old Nola was stolen off the street at gunpoint while taking a walk with her owner, Trenton Police said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A Trenton resident was arrested and charged after he stole a dog at gunpoint, Police said Friday.
On Oct. 11, a woman was walking on Academy Street with her dog Nola when she was approached by a man.
The man initially attempted to grab Nola’s leash and when he was unsuccessful, brandished a handgun, Trenton Police said. The man then fled with 4-month-old Nola.

During the investigation, police identified Trenton resident Brian Howard as the suspect.
A search warrant was executed on Oct. 11, and Howard was taken into custody without incident, police said. Authorities found a firearm and Nola at Howard’s house.

Nola was later returned to her owner.
Howard was charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, certain person not to possess a weapon, and stalking.
