Man Shoots Estranged Wife Dead, Turns Gun On Himself At NJ Rest Stop, Police Say
The man fatally shot his wife at a Maryland bus depot, police said. He then died by suicide at the Hamilton rest stop.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ – A man fatally shot his estranged wife Monday at a Maryland school bus depot and then died by suicide later that day at the Hamilton rest stop in Mercer County, police said.
Monyette Marie Stephenson, 45, was shot by Trimall Stephenson, 48, of Middle River, MD, police said.
Anne Arundel County Police said they were called to a bus service located in Odenton, MD , in the 1800 block of Bucklina Avenue around 10:13 a.m.

There, they found Monyette Marie suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics responded and pronounced her dead, police said.
Detectives said they obtained and watched video surveillance of the shooting, helping them identify the suspect as Trimall, an employee at the bus service and Monyette Marie’s estranged husband.

According to authorities, New Jersey State Police spotted Trimall at a rest stop in Hamilton. As troopers approached the vehicle, Trimall turned a firearm on himself and ended his own life, police said.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is working with the New Jersey State Police on the investigation.
