Police: Man Tries to Flee Arrest, Slams Door on Officer's Foot

A Lawrence man was arrested on Aug. 15 after police say he tried to close a home's front door on a police officer's foot during a warrant arrest. 

Christian Acuna, 20, was charged with obstructing the administration of law after Lawrence Police Off. Richard Laird III saw Acuna in the passenger seat of a vehicle and a check turned up an outstanding warrant out of Springfield Township, NJ. 

Laird followed the vehicle to Lawn Park Avenue, where the two occupants of the vehicle went into a home. When Laird went to the door, Acuna allegedly tried to shut the door on Laird's foot and flee back inside the residence. 

Acuna was taken into custody and released on $1,000 bail with 10 percent down.
