MERCER COUNTY, NJ — The Mercer County Board of Elections has unveiled a new online feature designed to help voters avoid lengthy wait times during the early voting period for the Primary Election.

The tool allows residents to check real-time line lengths at all seven early voting locations before leaving home. The Primary Election in NJ is on June 10, and early voting has already begun.

The new feature, available on the Board of Elections' website, provides current wait time information for each early voting site throughout Mercer County. Unlike Election Day voting, early voting allows residents to cast ballots at any of the seven locations, making the line-tracking feature particularly valuable.

“We saw how popular Early Voting was during the past November election and wanted to see how we could assist our county’s voters in avoiding longer lines, whenever possible, during the Early Voting period,” said Jill Moyer, Chairwoman of the Mercer County Board of Elections.

“We consider this another way that we can try to make Early Voting more convenient for the voters of Mercer County.”

The online tool displays early voting locations in both map and list formats, categorizing wait times into three clear categories — less than 10 minutes, between 10 and 20 minutes, or exceeding 20 minutes. The system also provides directions to each location.

The Board of Elections plans to update line information during peak afternoon and evening hours when voting activity typically increases, though more frequent updates can be provided if needed.

Chairwoman Moyer expressed optimism about the feature's potential impact. "We hope that our county’s voters will find this new tool helpful, and if so, we hope to continue to use this feature for the Early Voting periods in future elections as well,"

The innovation addresses practical concerns for voters, allowing them to make informed decisions about when and where to vote based on current conditions and personal schedules. This is particularly beneficial for working parents, elderly voters, or individuals with mobility concerns who want to minimize wait times.
