Graduation Time Brings Safety Reminder From Mercer County Sheriff
The sheriff noted that graduation can turn tragic when teens make impulsive decisions behind the wheel.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – As high school graduation season approaches, Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler is reminding families and students about the importance of safe celebration practices amid concerns about teenage drinking and driving.
With graduation parties on the horizon, Sheriff Kemler emphasized the heightened risks that come with this celebratory time of year, particularly when inexperienced drivers make dangerous choices involving alcohol.
"I encourage parents to discuss the risks of drinking and driving with their teenage graduates," Kemler said. "Take the initiative and have a conversation about peer pressure, not getting in a car with someone who has been drinking, and the real dangers of drinking and driving."
