Mercer Sheriff, Hyundai Partner To Offer Free Steering Wheel Locks
The locks will provide an additional layer of safety to vehicles, that have become a common target for thieves.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Mercer County and Hyundai USA have entered a short-term partnership to offer free steering wheel locks for area Hyundai owners, County Sheriff Jack Kemler said.
This move comes after the particular vehicles have become common targets for thieves.
"Steering wheel locks, if used consistently and properly, will provide another layer of security to prevent a car from being stolen," Kemler said.

“While nothing is 100 percent when it comes to outsmarting car thieves, we know that the more difficult you make it, the less likely you are to be a victim of automobile theft."
If the vehicle qualifies, obtaining a free steering wheel lock is easy. Residents need only make an appointment with the Sheriff's Programs Unit at 640 South Broad Street in Trenton, present a valid New Jersey driver's license, and provide proof of owning a certain Hyundai model on their vehicle registration.
