New Greek Restaurant Opens In Mercer County

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A family-owned Greek restaurant recently opened in Mercer County.

Opa Greek Restaurant recently celebrated its grand opening with ribbon-cutting ceremony in Hamilton.

The restaurant offers a fusion of traditional Greek cuisine and classic pizza.

Owner/Chef George Vasilarakis is a Greek native with over 40 years of culinary experience. The restaurnt features a diverse menu that includes authentic Greek dishes such as dolmades, Greek chicken soup, gyros, moussaka, spanakopita, hummus and desserts like baklava and walnut cake.

The restaurant also serves traditional tomato pies and New York-style pizzas.

“Opa in Greek means ‘Hurray!’ It reflects my love for music and community,” Vasilarakis said in a statement.

“We want to be a place where people can count on great food and hospitality. I know everyone in Hamilton loves the Greek Festival, so when we don’t have the festival, I’ll bring the festival to you.”

Mayor Jeff Martin and Mercer County Commissioner Nina Melker were present for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

“Opa Greek Restaurant is a wonderful addition to Hamilton. George and his family bring not only delicious food but also a vibrant sense of community,” Martin said.

In addition to dine-in and takeout options, Opa Greek Restaurant offers catering services for pickup and delivery, making it an ideal choice for any gathering or celebration.

The restaurant also features Greek-imported lemonade, adding a refreshing touch to the dining experience.

Opa Greek Restaurant is located at Deerpath Pavilion, 3817 Crosswicks Hamilton Square Road, Hamilton. They are open seven days a week, Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
