Obituary: Dennis E. Fairburn Sr., 82
A Lawrence Township resident since 1966, he was laid to rest on Thursday.

Dennis E. Fairburn Sr., 82, of Lawrence Township, died on Friday, Nov. 2, at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton.
Born and raised in Covington, Va., Dennis had been a resident of Lawrence since 1966.
He was a Korean War veteran having served in the Army.

Dennis was an accountant with Educational Testing Service for over 30 years before retiring in 1997.
Dennis had attended the Westminster Choir College in Princeton and music played an important role in his life. He was a member and past choir director of the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church.

Son of the late Harry and Edith Sampson Fairburn, husband of the late beloved Jean Sink Fairburn, and father of the late Ernest Lee Burgandine, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis E. Fairburn Jr. and Jacqueline Fairburn; two step-grandchildren, Juan Diaz and Tabatha Diaz-Sheridan; a sister-in-law Barbara Bailey and her husband Ed; sister-in-law, Barbara Fairburn; brother-in-law Kurt King and his wife Jean; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by his sister, Reva King, and his brothers Raymond and Denton Fairburn.
Funeral services for Dennis were celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Nina Reeder, pastor, officiating.
Memorial donations may be made in Dennis’ name to The Arc Mercer Inc., 180 Ewingville Rd., Ewing, N.J. 08638.
Arrangements were under the direction of Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors.
