Obituary: Iver Peterson, 70
A memorial service will be held at Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church today, Friday, Aug. 3, at 2:30 p.m.

Iver Peterson, son of Oliver and Esther Peterson, both labor-rights advocates, was born on June 30, 1942, in Brattleboro, Vt., and died on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012.
He is survived by his wife Chris; his four children and five grandchildren, Heath and Angela Peterson (Chloe and Connor), Kelli and Bob Sparano (Raquel, Robert, and Michael), Holly Peterson, and Lars Peterson; three siblings and dozens of nephews, nieces, and grand-nephews and –nieces.
After graduating Harvard in 1964, Iver spent several years in Vietnam working for the U.S. Government, and for The New York Times as a correspondent. He continued his career with the N.Y. Times at several bureaus throughout the U.S., including Trenton.

Iver loved vintage cars and the open road, and spent countless family vacations driving cross-country and camping in the desert. He loved to sing around the campfire and in the choir at the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville. He was devoted to his family, hard work, and living every day to the fullest.
A memorial service will be held at on Friday, Aug. 3, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
