Outdoor Activities Suspended Again Thursday In Lawrence Schools Due To Poor Air
As of Thursday, the air quality in Lawrence Township hit the "very unhealthy" level.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - As the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection issued a code orange air quality alert for Thursday, Lawrence Public Schools schools has suspended all outdoor activities for students for the second day.
There will be no gym or recess held outdoors, Superintendent Ross Kasun told the community in a letter.
"Please be reassured that we are closely monitoring the situation and will promptly provide updates as weather conditions improve. We value your cooperation and understanding during this time," Kasun said.

As of Thursday, the air quality in Lawrence hit the "very unhealthy" level. AirNow.gov, which reports air quality using the official U.S. Air Quality Index (AQI), showed that the Municipality had a particulate matter level of 226 around 11 a.m. A level of 300 is deemed “hazardous.”
