Police: Lawrence Man Assaulted EMT, Resisted Arrest

Authorities allege Mark Pasowski, a 26-year-old Lawrence Township resident, first punched an emergency medical technician who was trying to help him and then struggled with police officers.

Mark Pasowski, 26, of the 1300 block of Lawrence Road (Route 206) was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest after he allegedly punched a Lawrence Township emergency medical technician who was trying to help him, according to Lawrence Township police spokesman Lt. Mark Ubry.

It was about 2:20 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, when a township ambulance crew and Officer Scott Stein were sent to Pasowski’s home after a 911 call was received reporting a male at that address was “unresponsive,” Ubry said.

The ambulance crew was already on the scene and Pasowski was conscious and sitting down when Stein arrived, Ubry said.

He said Pasowski, apparently angered by the questions posed by one of the ambulance crew, allegedly punched the 52-year-old emergency medical technician in the chest and the right side of his face.

Pasowski then allegedly resisted when Stein went to arrest him. After a brief struggle, he was subdued and handcuffed by Stein and other officers who responded to assist, according to Ubry.

Pasowski was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton to be treated for his medical condition, Ubry said.
