Prosecutor connects 3 earlier accidents to truck driver charged for fatal Lawrence accident

Everrett, 38, was involved in three traffic incidents before a fatal crash near Colonial Lake on July 17.

The truck driver in the fatal July 17 accident which left a driver submerged in Colonial Lake, was connected to three other incidents in Mercer and Burlington Counties that day.

Assistant Prosecutor Sylar Weissman asked that the bail for Daniel Everrett, 38, would be maintained at $250,000, due to the number of accidents he was involved in.

Everrett rear-ended a car stopped at a red light in Bordentown at 11:45am, caused a three-car crash in West Windsor at 2:10pm, and shortly thereafter drove over a lawn in West Windsor.

Everrett’s attorney, James Gerrow, says that Everrett was unable to recall the accidents the next day due to erratic blood sugar.

“The defendant has really little if any recall of the events from the night before the crash until the day after,” Gerrow, told the Times of Trenton. Court toxicology reports found that Everrett was not impaired by drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.
