September Is The Time To Renew Cat License In Lawrence Township

Effective Nov. 1 a delinquent fee will be assessed in the amount of $5, plus $1 per month for each month of non-renewal.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — If you have a cat, it’s time to renew the license in Lawrence Township.

September is cat license renewal month for residents. Any cat over the age of seven months is required by law to be licensed.

All cat licenses should be renewed by Sept. 30. Licenses are renewed in the Municipal Clerk’s office.

When renewing the license, residents have to furnish proof of current rabies certification and of spaying or neutering (if applicable). These must be presented when a license is purchased by mail or in person.

The fee is $11 if spayed or neutered and $14 if not spayed or neutered.

Residents need to complete and submit an application in person or by mail to the Municipal Clerk's Office with the appropriate fee and a current rabies vaccination certificate. The applications can also be dropped off, along with paperwork and fee in a drop box located at the North Entrance to the Main Municipal Building.

Address the envelope to the Clerk’s Office to ensure proper delivery.

Residents who no longer have cats(s), or have moved out of the township or to a new address, need to contact the Municipal Clerk to correct the records.
