'Smoke Condition' In Lawrence Township Due To Canadian Wildfires
Lawrence Township officials issued an alert on Tuesday evening.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — Smoke from the Canadian wildfires have hit the township and as a result, the sky has a hazy and smokey appearance, township officials said.
Officials sent an alert to residents on Tuesday evening. Residents will see a hazy sky and may also smell an odor of smoke.
There is currently no danger or fire in our area. we are aware of the condition and will continue to monitor. When possible we will provide more updates," Lawrence Township officials said.

Similar conditions were reported in Princeton, West Windsor and much of Mercer and Middlesex counties.
Weather officials issued Air Quality Alerts across New Jersey on Tuesday as smoke and haze from ongoing wildfires in Canada lingered in the atmosphere.

This creates unhealthy conditions for sensitive groups during the day and into the evening hours.
"Sensitive individuals, including those with heart or lung disease, the elderly, and the young should limit strenuous activities and the amount of time active outdoors," National Weather Service said.
