Thieves Target Vehicles on Fontayne Lane in Lawrence

Cars, phones, iPods, cash have been the recent targets.

Recently there have been a series of thefts reported on Fontayne Lane and on a nearby street in Lawrence Township. 

  • A Hyundai Sonata valued at $26,000 was stolen between 10 p.m. on Aug. 7 and the following morning. The car was parked in a driveway on Fontayne Lane and left unlocked. The keys were inside. 
  • A pocketbook containing two iPhones (total value $800) and more than $100 cash was stolen from an unlocked Toyota Avalon on Fontayne Lane between 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 7 a.m. the next morning. The pocketbook was found across the street, but the cash and phones were missing. 
  • A 2007 Nissan Altima, valued at $8,000 was stolen between 10 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 7 a.m. the next morning from in front of a home on Fontayne Lane. Inside the car was a backpack containing the automatic car starter. The vehicle was later recovered by police in Trenton and two people were arrested. 
  • A wallet containing cash and credit cards was stolen between 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 9  and 10:15 a.m. the next morning from the center console of an unlocked Honda Odyssey parked in a driveway on Fontayne Lane.
  • A wallet was stolen between 4 p.m. on Aug. 9 and noon the next day from a van belonging to Eden Autism Institute from the company's parking lot on East Run Drive. 
  •  Two iPods (valued at $400) were stolen between 3:45 on Aug. 9 and 10 a.m. the next day from the center console of an Acura parked in a driveway on Fontayne Lane.
