Trees, Power Lines Down As Storm Causes Damage In Lawrence Township
Clean up is currently underway and first responders are on the site at many locations around town.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — A severe storm hit parts of Lawrence Township earlier Tuesday evening causing much damage with downed power lines and trees.
The Lawrence Square Village complex was affected as trees were uprooted. Clean up is currently underway and first responders are on the site.
Lawrence Square Village residents in need of resources or assistance should go to the clubhouse at 1 Simonelli Court, Lawrence.

The Red Cross will assist and other resources will be available, Lawrence Police Chief Chris Longo said.
Route 1 was closed after a power line fell on a car. Police and first responders are also cleaning the area of Quaker Bridge Road.

The National Weather Service had issued a tornado warning in Mercer County until 4:15 p.m. According to Mercer County officials, a tornado touched down in the area of Village Road and Quakerbridge Road around 4 p.m. today.
The National Weather Service is yet to confirm if a tornado touched down in Mercer County.
