Week of Events Will Celebrate Diversity at Rider Univ.
Activist Judy Shepard, whose son was murdered in 1998 because he was gay, will give the keynote address during Rider University's "Unity Days," a week-long celebration of "all the diverse elements that make up the Rider community."

Editor's Note: The following is a news release issued by Rider University.
Activist speaker Judy Shepard will present the keynote address during the Rider University Unity Days on Wednesday, Oct. 26, on the Lawrence Township campus. The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in the Bart Luedeke Center Cavalla Room.
In 1998, Judy Shepard lost her son, Matthew, to a murder motivated by anti-gay hate. Turning tragedy into a crusade for justice, and determined to prevent Matthew’s fate from befalling others, she established The Matthew Shepard Foundation to help carry on his legacy.
