Channel 7 News aired a segment Tuesday night about the hacking prowess developed by the high school's acclaimed cyber students.

Eyewitness News came to Red Bank Regional on Tuesday to find out how computer students are learning how to stop hackers by learning to think like hackers.

The segment, which aired Dec. 11 on the local ABC news affiliate, featured RBR teacher Mandy Galante discussing the strategy for teaching her cyber students how "to break security, so they can implement security."

Galante and her cyber students have been recognized for outstanding work and she was Monmouth County and Red Bank Regional's Teacher of the year for the 2011-2012 school year.

Eyewitness News Education reporter Art McFarland talked to Galante and her students as well as the high school's administrative team.

Principal Risa Clay said, "It's so important for teenagers to see that what they're learning applies to life."
