Donald P. Sullivan Of Oceanport Dies At 82

Donald P. Sullivan, 82, died peacefully of natural causes in March at JFK Hospital in Edison.
He was born in September 1932, in Manhattan, and grew up in the High Bridge section of the Bronx.

He was predeceased by his parents, Patrick Sullivan, a native of Ireland, and the former Mary Moran, of NY, and his brothers John and Gerald. He was a Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, as a wiring specialist. He recently resided at the New Jersey Memorial Veterans Home in Edison.
He lived in the Jersey Shore area since the 1960s, and worked in sales for most of his life, selling everything from radio time to recorded music. In more recent years, he worked backstretch security for Monmouth Park Race Track in Oceanport.
He was an avid thoroughbred horse racing fan, who greatly enjoyed his time with other fans at the track, handicapping and picking winners. Proud of his Irish heritage, he was also an animal lover, a reader, and a fan of fishing, jazz and swing, and fine sports cars.

Donald is survived by his son Thomas, daughter Michelle, granddaughter Nina, an aunt, Agnes, sister-in-law Elaine, nieces and nephews ( and families) Heather, Karilyn, Gregory, Maura Sullivan Atwater, Charlotte, NC, and Dr. Michael Sullivan, a Saginaw, MI vascular surgeon.
