Fulfill Hosts Third Annual “Shore to Rock Hunger” Event

Benefit recognized local organizations for their support fighting hunger in Monmouth and Ocean Counties

Fulfill, the food bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, hosted its third annual Shore to Rock Hunger Event, presented by New Jersey Resources, at the Baseline Social in Oceanport on Thursday, May 8. The event honored local organizations that have had an impact on Fulfill’s mission:

  • New Jersey Resources – Mission Sustainer Award
  • Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey – Nourishing Neighbors Award
  • Community Affairs & Resource Center (CARC) – Collaborative Changemaker Award
  • The National Council of Negro Women, North Shore Area Section – Strategic Service Award

“We are currently operating in an unprecedented time, with the number of visits to our community feeding partners up since COVID – and the most vulnerable, children and senior citizens, are at an even greater risk. The cost of living, food, housing costs, taxes, are all on the rise. Hunger is a challenge that no one organization can solve alone,” said Triada Stampas, President and CEO of Fulfill. “Tonight’s honorees show what’s possible when community partners come together with a shared purpose in order to nourish our neighbors and build a stronger, more food-secure future.”

Highlights of the event included a performance by The Kings of Disco, who are former members of the iconic Village People, a Silent Auction and a “Live Appeal for Support” paddle raise, which raised over $70,000 to contribute to Fulfill’s vital work alleviating hunger in Monmouth and Ocean counties.

“Feeding 100,000 neighbors each month across the Jersey Shore requires more than food; it takes compassion, collaboration and community, and all of those qualities came together in spades at our Shore to Rock Hunger Event,” said Stampas. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who came out to support our mission, from our sponsors to our generous attendees. Every dollar raised helps ensure that our neighbors in Monmouth and Ocean Counties have the food and the resource to lead fulfilling lives.”
