Marsh A. Bryan, Owner Of ABC Sports In Little Silver, Dies At 84

Services for Little Silver resident will be held Thursday and Friday

Marsh A. Bryan of Little Silver, passed away peacefully surrounded by lots of family, on February 13, 2018. He was 84.

He was an insurance broker with Johnson and Higgins in NYC and also enjoyed owning ABC Sports of Little Silver, NJ.

He attended Rumson Country Day School, St. Bernards, Pomfret School and graduated from Princeton in 1955. He was a former member of the Rumson Country Club, Sea Bright Lawn Tennis & Cricket Club, the Key Largo Anglers Club and the Sea Bright Beach Club. His favorite activities were skiing, golf, fishing, rowing, bridge and tennis.

Marsh is predeceased by his parents, Gray MacWhorter Bryan and Gretchen Schoen Bryan, and his three brothers, Gray, Richard and John. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Martin Bryan of Little Silver; his sons, Michael A. Bryan of Rye, of New Hampshire, and Thomas (Bomber) Bryan, of Wilson, Wyoming; his daughters, Cynthia (Muffie) Gur, of Leonardo, and Linda Brenske, of York, Maine; and 11 grandchildren.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, Feb. 15 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank. A Memorial Service will be held at St. George's By The River, 7 Lincoln Ave. Rumson at 11 a.m. on Feb. 16. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Fire Departments, Libraries or EMT/Ambulance Services of Rumson, Fair Haven or Little Silver.
