OCEANPORT, NJ — On Friday, the Oceanport Ave. Bridge officially reopened to traffic.

This is the bridge at the intersection of Oceanport Ave. and East Main St. in Oceanport, over Oceanport Creek. It has been closed since March for much-needed repairs.

Monmouth County closed it to perform a concrete deck repair, which was needed due to the deck deteriorating from years of environmental factors — in particular, corrosive salt water.

“We are pleased to report that the repairs were completed on schedule and the bridge is open,” said Commissioner Director Tom Arnone, liaison to the Department of Public Works and Engineering. "We would like to thank our residents, and all who traveled in the area, for their patience during the closure.”
