Summer Gazebo Music, Sandy Deadlines Coming This Week

The Oceanport Board of Education will also meet on Wednesday, July 31.

By Christopher Sheldon

It will be August by the middle of this week, and before you know it, children in Little Silver and Oceanport will be heading back to school.

However, students and their parents still have another month of summer to enjoy and a weekend concert will help keep the fun times rolling.

The Little Silver Recreation Committee is hosting a concert at the Markham Place Gazebo on Sunday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m.

Chuck Lambert and Susan Haugenes will be performing this weekend, weather permitting.

There's also an important deadline coming up this week. The deadline to apply for the Hurricane Sandy Resettlement and RREM grants is Thursday, Aug. 1.

Residents affected by Hurricane Sandy still have some time to apply for these grants to help them fix or raised their homes.

We'll send out a reminder later this week about the deadline too.

The Oceanport Board of Education will also meet this week on Wednesday, July 31 at 7 p.m. at Maple Place School.

The agenda looks pretty light this week, but you can check it yourself by clicking here.

We'll also continue to bring you the latest police, local government and school stories this week.
