Week Ahead in Little Silver and Oceanport

Holiday concerts, Little Silver's Town Hall FEMA meeting and board of education meetings fill up this busy December week.

Monday, Dec. 10

In an effort to determine Sandy's effects on property assessments, the Little Silver Borough Tax Assessor is asking all residents whose homes were damaged and received a recent mailing from the borough to complete and return the enclosed form, regardless of previous notification to the borough of storm damage.

The award-winning Maple Place Chargers share the sounds of the holiday season at the middle school at 7 p.m.

Markham Place School's Winter Concert, featuring performances by the band, orchestra and chorus, will take place at 7 p.m. at the middle school.

Red Bank Regional's Senior Banquet will be held in the school's Commons from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets will be sold for $10 during both lunches, all next week. The class officers will be selling tickets at a table near the pit or or stop by Mr. Desiere's office to pick one up. 

Thursday, Dec. 13

The Little Silver Borad of Education holds its regular monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Markham Place Media Center.

The Oceanport Board of Education holds its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m.  at the Maple Place Library.

Red Bank Regional (RBR) has the recipe to usher in the holiday season during three days of fabulous music, dance and art. The RBR Academy of Visual & Performing Arts (VPA) presents a Holiday Showcase, which takes place on Thursday, December 13, Friday, December 14, and Saturday, December 15 at the RBR Theatre at 101 Ridge Road in Little Silver. All three performances begin at 7 pm and all are unique, featuring different works each night.  The performing groups include the RBR Art, Drama, Creative Writing, Instrumental Music, Piano, Photography and Vocal Majors with the Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, Concert Bank, Harp Ensemble and String Ensemble.   So come bask in the spirit of the holidays at RBR. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.

Friday, Dec. 14

The Little Silver Environmental Commission sponsors a Winter Apparel Sale to benefit local Sandy relief efforts. Quality winter clothes (North Face, Patagonia, Cloud Veil) & linens. 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 15, Women’s Club of Little Silver. All Proceeds Go To Local Sandy Relief Efforts

Markham Place's Holiday Dance for seventh and eighth graders will be held in the school gym.

The RBR Academy of Visual & Performing Arts (VPA) presents a Holiday Showcase at 7 p.m.
