Today Is The Last Day To Apply For Long Branch Citizens Police Academy

Program involves eight weeks of classes.

It's not too late to apply to the Long Branch Police Department's Citizens Police Academy, but you have one day left to submit your application, according to the police department's Facebook page.

The free class starts on April 6 and is open to anyone 18 and over. It consists of eight weekly classes that will run from April 6 through May 23 at City Hall at 344 Broadway.

The program consists of eight weekly lectures given by guest speakers. Participants will receive in-the-field, hands-on experiences that may include ride-a-longs, firearms, K-9 demonstrations, tours of the Long Branch Police Department, and motor vehicle stops.

The overall objective is to further strengthen police-community relations, so as to ensure that the City of Long Branch continues to be a great community to live, work, and raise our families.
