According to a GoFundMe started by PBA 301, Stephen Coultas and his fiancΓ©e, Kay, are residents of Long Valley with their children. Kay suffers from a form of drug-resistant epilepsy, experiencing various types of seizures that significantly impact her quality of life and that of her family.

Recently, Kay underwent brain surgery to help reduce the number of seizures she experiences. According to the GoFundMe, the recovery process has been extensive and more challenging than Stephen and his family anticipated.

As a result, Stephen has had to miss a significant amount of work to care for Kay during her recovery, leading to financial difficulties for the family, police reported.

"Our PBA came across Stephen and Kay's story on a Long Valley community Facebook page and recognized an opportunity to help a local family during a time of need," the police department said. Police officers have raised $370 of their $2,000 goal. If you wish to contribute by check, send it to PBA 301 at 1 E Springtown Road, Long Valley, NJ 07853.
