Developer Eyes New Restaurant On Schooley's Mountain
Former site of Mountain View Inn, vacant for more than half a decade, would be demolished and rebuilt into new business.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. β An eyesore for years, the plot of land that formerly housed the Mountain View Inn across from Rock Spring Park may get a makeover and bring a new business to Long Valley.
A group named Schooleyβs Mountain Road Associates has filed applications with the township to knock down both buildings currently sitting at 141 Schooleyβs Mountain Road and build an 8,440 square-foot restaurant, Planning Board secretary Barbara Margolese said.

Representatives for the company will go before the planning board Wednesday, April 6 for a preliminary/final major site plan and possible public hearing. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at 43 Schooleyβs Mountain Road.
The group will also provide experts to testify about traffic potential, environmental impact since the property has some wetland issues, and other potential obstacles, Margolese said.
An attorney for the development group could not be immediately reached for comment.
