DWI Arrests, Shoplifting Reported In Long Valley

Washington Township Police released its blotter for the month of February.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — This week, Washington Township police released their monthly blotter, highlighting the various incidents officers respond to throughout the course of the month.

At 12:14 a.m. on Feb. 2, patrol officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 46 after observing multiple traffic violations. During the stop, it was determined that the driver, a 27-year-old man from Danville, Pa., was intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with DWI and several other motor vehicle offenses.

The driver, whose name was not disclosed, was released pending a court appearance.

At 10:14 p.m. on Feb. 10, 2025, patrol officers stopped a vehicle on Schooley's Mountain Road. During the stop, officers discovered that the driver, a 66-year-old man from Wilton, Conn., was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He was arrested, processed, and released pending court.

At 12:07 a.m. on Feb. 15, 2025, patrol officers stopped a vehicle on Schooley's Mountain Road after observing erratic driving. Officers determined the driver, a 44-year-old woman from Netcong, was intoxicated. She was arrested and charged with DWI and various other motor vehicle offenses.

She was released pending an initial court appearance, police said.

At 10:18 p.m. on Feb. 18, 2025, patrol officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Flocktown Road. The vehicle fled, prompting a brief pursuit that was terminated for public safety. The driver, a 45-year-old man from Long Valley, was later identified and arrested for eluding and several motor vehicle offenses. He was released pending a court appearance.

At 3:55 p.m. on Feb. 21, 2025, patrol officers stopped a vehicle on Schooley's Mountain Road. During the stop, it was determined that the driver, a 28-year-old man from Hackettstown, had an outstanding NCIC warrant from Passaic County.

The driver was arrested and lodged in the county jail, police said.

On Feb. 24, 2025, patrol responded to Target for a report of a shoplifting in progress. A Sussex County couple was arrested and charged with third-degree theft. They were both released pending their initial court appearance.

On Feb. 25, 2025, patrol responded to Target for a shoplifting call. A 43-year-old man from Newton was arrested and charged with third-degree theft. He was released with a pending court appearance.
