'Food, Fun And Fireworks': Long Valley Community Festival Set For September

Fundraisers kicking off to support joint event after two-year hiatus.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – Long Valley’s annual community festival hasn’t been on display since 2013, but a new organizing committee and wider scope are making a return this year.

Hosted by the Long Valley Fire Company, the “Food, Fun And Fireworks Festival” has been set for Sept. 10 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a rain date of Saturday, Sept. 24.

The organizing committee will be joined by the Green Festival committee, and the two groups will plan the event together.

The Washington Township Committee has pledged $5,000 to the cost of the event, but three more fundraising opportunities are on the horizon this spring.

The Long Valley Fire Company will hold a comedy night on Saturday, April 16 at the fire house on Fairview Avenue. Doors open at 6 p.m., show time is 7 p.m.

On Friday, May 13, the Long Valley Fire Company will also hold a tricky tray, and a fire truck raffle will be available to all township students.

The winners of the raffle - one student from each Washington Township Elementary School - will ride on a fire truck to and from school for a day. Tickets for that raffle are currently on sale. More information can be found by emailing lfvcevents@gmail.com.

The September festival will have food trucks, a beer garden, bounce houses, live bands, and cap the night off with a fireworks display. Parking at the Long Valley Middle School will be a donation of $5.
