ICYMI: Long Valley Resident, School Staffer, Dies At 83
'Gabe' LoSapio spent more than half a century living in town.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – Gabriel “Gabe” LoSapio was a staple in Long Valley for more than half a century.
The grandfather of six died at Morristown Medical Center on Saturday, April 2 at the age of 83.

LoSapio moved to Long Valley 54 years ago, coming from Madison, New Jersey. He worked as a laborer for Madison Local for many years as well as a custodian in the Long Valley Middle School and West Morris Central High School before retiring.
He was also a maintenance engineer for St. Luke’s Parish for nearly 30 years.

LoSapio had a passion for cars, especially antique cars, and always had a smile on his face. He loved helping people and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
LoSapio is survived by his beloved wife, Mary, of 60 years; three daughters; and six grandchildren.
A celebration of Gabe’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. Luke’s Parish on West Mill Road in Long Valley. A memorial mass will follow at 11 a.m.
