Long Valley Elementary School Aide Of 29 Years Dies At 82

Mary DiBlasi was known for her dancing and 'gusto'.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – Zeal and gusto are the terms used to described Mary DiBlasi.

The longtime Old Farmers Road School instructional aide died Tuesday at the age of 82.

DiBlasi was born in Bayonne in 1934. She worked at the Long Valley elementary school for 29 years before retiring in 2008.

She’ll be fondly remembered as someone who loved to dance and was always caring for her family.

DiBlasi was predeceased by her late husband, Thomas, in 2003. She is survived by one son, two daughters, and six grandchildren.

Mary’s Life Celebration will include visitation Sunday, April 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road in Landing.

A liturgy of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 11 at Our Lady of the Lake Church on Windemere Avenue in Mt. Arlington.
