Long Valley Elementary School's Yearbook Honored Among Nation's Best

Old Farmers Road School named one of top 300 in Lifetouch's national contest.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – When Old Farmers Road School alumni look back at their 2014-15 yearbook, they’ll be seeing a piece of history.

That’s because the yearbook garnered Honorable Mention honors from Lifetouch’s Yearbook Showcase Contest from 300 entrants nationally in the elementary school division.

β€œThe books reflect hours of hard work by the staffs and advisers,” said Laura Schaub, Lifetouch yearbook education specialist in a statement. β€œThese books are some of the best elementary and secondary books in the nation.”

Old Farmers Road School’s 2014-15 yearbook was based on the theme β€œRoad to Respect.” Throughout the hallways of the K-5 school, signs are placed to let students, staff, and visitors know there’s a welcoming atmosphere where everyone treats each other with care and respect.

The yearbooks editors included Carol Holland, Advisor; Diane Trudell, Cover Design/Theme; Carol Bandille; Tricia Ciavolella; Janine Diets; and Jennifer Sheppard.

The award-winning group has another major milestone ahead, as the school prepares to release its 50th Anniversary edition this spring.
