Long Valley Fire Dept. Assists With Airlift After Motorcycle Crash

The fire department established a landing zone at a nearby school.

TEWKSBURY, NJ — Long Valley first responders assisted in the helicopter evacuation of a motorcycle crash victim this weekend, according to EMS personnel.

On Sunday, around 11:15 a.m., first responders were called out to a motor vehicle crash involving a car and a motorcycle near Tewksbury in Hunterdon County.

The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and required a helicopter evacuation, according to the Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad.

Fairmount Fire Company No. 1, of Long Valley, established the landing zone for NorthSTAR & SouthSTAR Air Medical Helicopter at Old Turnpike School.

The victim was transported by helicopter to the Morristown Medical Center.

Several responding agencies were on the scene assisting, including the Oldwick Fire Company, the Tewksbury Township Police Department, and even an off-duty member of the Whitehouse Rescue Squad, who happened to be driving by when the accident took place.

“The Rescue Squad is thankful for the excellent working relationship we enjoy with all of our partners who provide topnotch patient care in and around Tewksbury,” a Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad post read.
