Long Valley Girl Scouts Giving Away Thanksgiving Meals
Need a Thanksgiving meal? Find out how to sign up for a free meal by Nov. 17 or to donate supplies to the Girl Scouts to make them.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — Girls Scouts in Long Valley from Troops 96086, 98276 and 98290 are making up “no strings attached” meals for any person in the community who needs one this year.
For anyone who needs a free Thanksgiving meal, which will be packaged up individually and ready to eat or be refrigerated, they can fill out this form by Nov. 17 at this link: https://forms.gle/7vo6egDxXktaXNm88.

Meal pick ups are at the Zion Lutheran Church on Schooleys Mountain Road on Wednesday, Nov. 24 - the day before Thanksgiving - from 5 to 7 p.m.
The Girl Scouts plan to roll up their sleeves to serve up turkey along with mashed potatoes and stuffing, topped with gravy, plus cranberry sauce, candied carrots and sweet potatoes and string beans with garlic and butter. The meal is topped off with either a slice of pumpkin or apple pie.

The Girl Scout Troops still need help with supply donations including:
- Fresh white potatoes
- Fresh sweet potatoes
- Onions (fresh or frozen)
- Fresh string beans
- Fresh carrots
- Fresh cranberries
- Bags of Dry Stuffing (Arnold brand types)
- Jars of Minced Garlic
- Salt
- Cinnamon
- Butter
- Milk
- Apple Pies
- Pumpkin Pies
The Girl Scouts will also accept ShopRite gift cards, with any unused cards or portions of them donated to the Long Valley Community Assistance Program.
Items can be dropped into coolers beginning on Nov. 17 and through Nov. 22 at 30 Paula Drive in Long Valley.
