Long Valley's Burton Entertains, Coaches Young Athletes At First Football Camp

Detroit Lions fullback hosted his first-ever camp at his alma mater over the weekend.

Long Valley, N.J. – He may have gone big time, but he’ll never forget the little hometown that helped him become what he is today.

West Morris Central graduate and current Detroit Lions fullback Michael Burton returned to his hometown over the weekend to conduct his first Football Camp for area kids.

Aspiring athletes age 12 and under attended the event on June 25 at West Morris Central High School and took part in football drills before posing for photos and receiving autographs from Burton.

Proceeds from the event benefitted the Embrace Kids Foundation based out of New Brunswick that helps families whose children suffer from cancer, sickle-cell disease, and other blood disorders.
