New School Board Members To Be Sworn In At Long Valley Meeting

The Washington Township Board of Education is holding its reorganization meeting on Tuesday evening.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Two new faces and one familiar one will join the Washington Township Board of Education in 2025, with the annual reorganization meeting set for Tuesday evening.

When the board meets for its reorganization meeting in the new year, newcomers Melanie Bratton, Mike Cattano alongside incumbent Rob Waskis will be sworn in for their new terms.

A new board president and vice president will also be selected during the meeting. Current vice president Cindy Ruggiero opted not to run for reelection this past November. Current board member Carmine Capogrosso also did not file for re-election.

There will be a portion of the meeting dedicated to public comment, and the board will solidify their 2025 meeting dates as well.

  • April 29, 2025 – Regular Meeting/Public Budget Hearing
  • May 13, 2025 – Regular Meeting
  • June 17, 2025 – Regular Meeting
  • July 22, 2025 – Regular Meeting
  • Aug. 12, 2025 – Regular Meeting
  • Sep. 9, 2025 – Regular Meeting
  • Oct. 14, 2025 – Regular Meeting
  • Nov. 4, 2025 – Regular Meeting
  • Dec. 9, 2025 – Regular Meeting
